UA System Scholars Institute
The UA System Scholars Institute is hosted each year on a rotating basis by one of our three universities and is open to faculty, staff and administration from all three campuses. The 7th Annual Scholars Institute was held Monday-Tuesday, May 12-13, 2014, at
The University of Alabama Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This year’s theme was “Teaching, Research, and Service: United Through Technology.”
The Scholars Institute fosters a shared community of knowledge among the three UA System campuses. It brings us together to explore best practices and new ideas for technology in our teaching, learning, and research. 2014 tracks included “Research and Technology: Exploration and Discovery,” “Teaching in the Digital Age,” and “Social, Community, Service: The World as Classroom.”
A diverse cross-section of faculty and staff members from each of the UA campuses, combined with invigorating keynote speakers and panels, make the Scholars Institute an exciting and collaborative event. Presentations, poster sessions, panels, and workshops on technology-related topics allow us to educate, to learn, and to renew our enthusiasm for our mission of teaching, research, and service!
